so, we’re doing a melodrama, about a ‘hungry man’ who steals farmer sheildz’s cow to eat it and gets chased away by Mrs Animal rights officer, who ends up ’saving the day’, is that all good? caught up nice n’ goodly?
hmm yer that pretty much adds up the whole play!!!!lol yer today was actually pretty good because we have an idea of the storyline now!! it will be hard to write the cript though cause it is really random lol i dont know who is going write it?? anyone????hellllloooooo?is there sumone there??
so far we have totally changed what we were going to do!! It was a bit radical!!lol we were going to do a story about a farmer and stuff but it was a bit wierd and not melodramatic enough. So we have changed it to a story about a corrupt wedding!! In the wedding i am marrying Xanthe. Alli wants to marry me though, so she kidnapps Xanthe and she disguises herself. Then at the wedding i am about to marry her when Sheidlzy says that she is too short to be Xanthe!! I put on my glasses and see the truth. I find Xanthe and we all live happily…ever…after!!! I am the HERO, Xanthe is the HERIONE, Alli is the VILLLIAN, Bo is the VILLIANS ASSISTANT and Sheildzy is the HERO’S ASSISTANT. we all suit our characters well…dont you think???
So ppl write back and tell me how u think we are going…….we perform on FRIDAY!!!!AHAHHHHHHAHAHHAHAHA
so now weve changed our story line comletely, to something along the lines of:
hero gets engaged to heroine,
villian is jealous and so kidnaps heroine,
villian dresses up like heroine,
villian almost gets married to hero,
but heros sidekick points out that shes too short and so
hero leaves and saves heroine and marries her.
END
am i right?,
so Allie wrote up the script, and we handed it in.
yer i can come tuesday…but Xanthe cant!! i cant come wednesday so we will have to practice tomorrow afternoon and on wednesday and thurs lunchtime….i have to see Mr Collins tomorrow lunch about Regionals
yep, glad you could join us
, now, today we stayed back(except for xanthe and allie, which made it difficult) and went through our lines without the scripts, so hopefully when we all come together it will be all good
YAY! I CAN USE VINE BLOGS! raise your hand if you hate technology! ***rasies hand***
anyway i’ll start at the beginning.
For our first lesson we did like a ‘walk in the space’ thingo, where we had to respond to various Melodrama music. Really disliked that part of the lesson, but then we seperated into our groups and there were four stations set up around the room where we had to do various things that would help us with playbuilding our assingment.
There was something like we had to show anger in a certain way, word at a time story or something…..anyway we were originally going to go with a theme of playschool, but when we went to ‘play build’ it just didn’t work. so we went again and came up with a new scenario where a cow is ‘cownapped’ by the evil villains, then saved or course by the villains. Seems to be working.
we split into our groups and did the four stations thingo again. Station one was where we had to create various tableaux’s which would sum up our play, station two was word at a time story where we acted it out but only using one word per person, Station three was where we acted it out using ‘gibberish’ and Station four was using music and sings to help us playbuild.
I generally found these ’stations’ useful, they sort of helped us establish a story line. I think the problem is sort of that cow gets stolen, cow gets returned. and then thats it so there isn’t that much of a story line. hmmm. anyway.
anyway Luke was away or something like that today so when we got in our groups we sort of did some story boarding, and tried to plot out where our story line was going to lead to. we really didn’t get much done that lesson and I was beginning to get worried about the particualr story line we had chosen…..hmmmm…..
uhhhh the next lesson we sort of continued story boarding, and i rewrote the notes in my book because it was a bit messy. Ummm tried to think to ways to extend the story line, i think it really only went for a minute or two minutes if we managed to draw it out.
miss ghest printed off some names such as ‘Fran Tick’ as suggestions and some Melodrama insults (cant remember exactly but ones that were along the lines of ‘a few sandwiches short of a picnic’ or something…anyway) we had a quick look at them but decided to worry about names and such later on.
I’ve been wondering about how to incorporate things like ‘asides’ into our plot which shouldn’t be too hard.
ARGH! we had showback this lesson, Luke was somewhere else and we still had a plot that went no where. I was getting really annoyed with our current plot so i suggested that maybe we restart and get some ideas from miss g’s improv cards.
we gave it a try just by flicking one over and seeing if there was something we could use. We managed to get a pretty good plot about wedding using the cards that said:
The disguise; The wedding; Twin; Locked in a room; On a desert Island; In love and i think that was it.
We thought of a story line and got up and improvised even though Luke wasn’t there, and we did our showback. I couldn’t stop laughing and i think we did pretty well since we had only just thought of it that lesson. Luke came back just before end of class and yeah..thats about it.
i just realized i forgot to explain what the story line was! I’ll get to that in a minute though.
We had our full group for the next lesson so we pretty much discussed the story line again, explained fully to Luke and then improvised or play built what ever you wanna call it.
We assigned characters (although it was just for now) and yeah thats about it. liked being the villain, but wouldn’t have minded if i had to be something else. anyway to the story line!
Luke and Xanthe are engaged, I get really angry cos i wanna marry Luke, Bo has an idea and we kidnap Xanthe and steal Lukes ‘glasses’. I ‘disguise’ myself as Xanthe and go to marry Luke. However Cameron who saw the whole thingo goes to Luke, who doesn’t believe him. We almost marry then Cameron realizes that I’m too short to be Xanthe. Luke puts on Cameron’s glasses and realizes. then hey go and find Xanthe. so there it is…….hmmmm….
Ok we had like two lunch time rehearsals (thu and fri?), and being lunch time other groups were there so it was very distracting for all of us. anyway we pretty much just went through it again.
Ummmm on thursday i offered to do the script over night because it was due the next day and i think everyone else had a fair bit of homework or training or something like that. not sure anyway i didn’t really mind….hmmm….ahh we went through casting again because Xanthe wasn’t so keen on being the herione again. we tried to think of other ways to do things, but decided to just keep it the way it was.
Luke hero
Cameron hero assistant
Xanthe heroine
Allie villain
Bo villain assistant
i didn’t mind being heroine and xanthe being villain but somehow we ended up sticking with our original characters. (cant remember everything)
we are going well i think, and it will prob help having a set script.
did the script thu night and tried to make xanthe not so ‘gushy’ as she asked, and i added three or four asides, and made sure Cameron had plenty of signs to hold up. i wasn’t sure on what to do for the ending, so i just made it very quick, we could always redo it.
ummm what to write. uhhh about the ‘casting’ i think Cameron is more of the hero rather than the assistant, cos he sort of saves the day in reality, and Luke rescues Xanthe. so they sort of share the hero role equally. As for the villains, i think Bo is just plain old villain rather than assitant as well because he does think of the plan and has his own hidden agenda (getting rid of his sister)
hmmm thats about it then i suppose. oh i only printed out about three scripts just in case we edited again, but we deciced to stay with the script so i am emailing to everyone over the weekend except Luke who took the original.
well not much to report. we were supposed to continue with group work after we did some revising/notes from board.
I pretty much sat there the whole lesson looking through my book because all the notes were from out book and i had already summarised them on the weekend. i quickly wrote down the ten commandments and the elements we needed just incase i had missed a few.
well today we stayed back after school. xanthe couldn’t ome because she couldn’t get someone to cover her shift at work or something, and i could only stay half an hour because i wasn’t sure if mum knew and she wouldn’t answer the phone so that i could tell her. and knowing her if i was too late home she’d start freaking like she has done before. lol so i ‘made my escape’ pretty quickly.
we went out side and just went through the script anf i must say Bo and Luke do wonderful impersonations of Xanthe “Oh Luke I thought you’d never come!” “I’ve been bored stiff! literally!”
anyway i had to go, and either Bo or Luke said in thier blog that we might do Wednesday afternoon….i won’t be able to come because i’m working and it is too late to sway shifts with someone no matter how much i beg and grovel. oh well now that i hav added all my entries thus far to this ’stupid’ website i am done for now! YES!
oh and apparantly i’m writing all this at 5:30 in the morning or something! believe me the day i get up at 5:30 for homework is the day that…well…the day that I suffer a severe head injury!
YEAH!!!!! I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!!!! bet you thought vineblogs was too complex for me didnt you Bo!!!! WELLLLL YOU WERE WRONG!!!!!
anyway…i guess i cant really say much more…my group has basically said everything i would have said
But i will say that our group is doing pretty well considering thatwe changed our storyline at the last minute!!!! However i think it was worth it as our new storyline is more entertaining and goes for longer AND it is much easier to be melodramatic in!!!!
Also i reckon our new script is 10 times better than the old one !!!!(although we hadent even written one for our old story…)
I think the characters have been cast well and at the moment we are doing ok with making it all come together….i guess….
we all still need to learn our lines…which could be a potential problem!! considering our performance is TWO DAYS A WAY!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!
im hoping we will be ready on the day..hoping!!!! wish us luck!!!
well, i best be off and start learning that script of mine hey??? I SUGGEST WE ALL START LEARNING IT!!!! lol…well have fun!!!
AAHHHHHHHHHHHH!! kinda freakin out right now!!!! IT IN TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!! WE REALLY NEED MORE TIME!!!!!!!! we should all meet for a morning rehearsal…maybe…maybe not…
but definatly lunch rehearsal kk???
hmmm anyway
today we didn’t have drama but we did a lunch time rehearsal anyway….we started off doing an improv just to brush up. our topis was like ‘hamburgers’ or something along the lines of that. anyway Cameron and Bo were selling dodgy hotdogs and Luke bought one and died. then I came along with my trusty dog and yeh…that was about it…
then we moved onto our melodrama we put our scripts down and only looked at them when we need a prompt, which was pretty much all the time. i think i know my lines pretty well i just don’t know when they come in and in what order…;)
anyway two days left. i now officially declare this ‘official panic time’.
i didnt think it was too complex for you, its just because you said ‘i cant’.
any way it is now 6-15 the day before, so that means heaps of drilling it tomorrow while we’re waiting…
well…today was PATHETIC!!! considering we didnt even get to rehearse at lunch!!! THATS RIGHT!!! NO REHERSAL!!!! AHHH…so anyway…2morro will be a complete DISASTER!!! no, no, i musnt say that…i should be positive..hmmm…at the moment im searching frantically for some last minute props, eg a VEIL!!!! AHH, oh and allie, i should be able to put something together to look like a veil….hopefully!!! if not ill just bring a scarf or something so that you can use it as a discuise to look like me…that works!!!
guys, tomorrow we really need to rehearse!!!!
ah well….better go and learn…huhum…i mean REVISE my lines…OH DEAR!!!
***looks around nervously*** eisteddfod tomorrow….GREAT!…i think…no actually….NOT SO GREAT! ARGH! ARGH! ARGH! hmm well i tried looking for that white ’shawl’ that i used to be obsessed with as a kid so that we could use it as sort of a veil…but…I CAN’T FIND IT!…I get the feeling i threw it out…anyway I called Xanthe and she promptly found a cream scarf or something to that effect.
now about the signs. i’m freaking out cos i don’t know if miss g is going to bring hers, and i don’t know if Cameron made any…i mean he said he did so obviously he would bring them but this is just me freaking out. As Xanthe said to me tonight it feels like something is missing, that we’re forgetting something….
oh and about the music…well i got like this wedding march off the internet but it really doesn’t suit in my opinion so i’ll try to find some more, (at 10 30 at night!) but i’ll bring it anyway. maybe Luke Cameron and Bo should just comically sing it as i prance on stage or whatever im going to do…hmmm anyway i know my lines, and with some more practice tomorrow morning i think I’ll be alright. how is everyone else going with thier lines? hmm anyway i’m off.
oh and i also forgot, i’m going to google melodrama and see if there is anymore actions like ‘hand to head’ to show certain feelings such as anger and sadness…hmmm yeh that’s it from me….well for now anyway and now i’m rambling. it’s so much easier to ramble on this silly blog than in your actual logbook.
hmmm well i would have updated straight away after our performance but my internet decided to crash again for the first time in three months. oh the pain.
WE WON! WOOT WOOT! any way not that that really matters. hmm anyway i think we did pretty well (obviously the judges thought so) i was beginning to freak out when i forgot one of my lines so i jut skipped straight through two or three of them and we kept going.
ummmm well at the wedding when Bo was saying to me “do you take Luke to be…” he accidentally said wife instead of husband, and it took all my self control not to burst out laughing.
hmmm i think the signs worked well. i was really scared that the audience wouldn’t react to them but they did and i was so relieved. i had a quick look at the judges notes and they liked the signs.
hmmm there were a few asides when i was off stage and i didn’t really take notice i was sort of preparing myself for entering again so i don’t know how they went. hmmm OH! the music!
I got Jenna to do the music for us, and i was waiting in the wings for the music to start before entering, but it didn’t! i freaked out and entered anyway just as it came on. the relief. then i got to my position and the music went ‘khaput’ with a loud bang and died. but we kept going even though i was going ‘darn’ but oh well we survived.
but anyway there was supposed to be a few bars of trumpets before i entered, and then the bridal march was supposed to begin. did we get marked down cos of the music stuff up? if so can we do it again?
hmmm anyway i am so relieved that it is over! i never have to do it again! (if i can help it) anyway what to say. oh overall evaluation.
well once we got stuck into our proper story line we worked really well and pulled wieght evenly. before when we had the cow storyline we worked well as well but when it came to sort of extending it no one really knew exactly what to do so in a way we were sort of ‘blocking’ ourselves.
uhhh self evaluation…well i shall admit that i think i was bit of a control freak at some stages, so i’ll work on that. and i need to work on memorizing my lines earlier. i knew them but if i had known them for a bit longer i probably wouldn’t have forgotten one of them.
hmmm anyway what else to say. oh yes when is Cameron going to do his part of this? hmmm ummmm ahhhhh well…bye…for now…i guess
WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!! WE WON!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG…
thAT IS SO COOL
yer when bo said that i was going to be allis wife i had a little giggle to myself but i didnt crack up laughing….phew!!lol
so wat did the judges say about the performance?
personally i didnt notice until i said do you luke take allie to be your wife, and then i thought ‘hmmm i think ive already said wife, oh well’
any way, we won, but we missed SSSOOOO many lines, but (thanks to impro) they barely or didnt notice
self evaluation….well i sorta done one already…..then again it was a tiny paragraph….maybe i should do some more……i hate logbooks….there….
….self evaluation complete…..oh and i don’t like melodrama…it’s too….melodramatic….and predictable…..like ‘home and away’ where no body can ever have a healthy baby, a regular wedding cerimony and where your average GP can perform brain surgery and heart surgery on a pregnant person! see! all to predictable. like in crossing jordan they all said she was gunna die but it’s sort of a melodrama so of course she won’t die….would it still be classed as a melodrama if the villain got away with everything and like, then hero died….? hmmmm well there we are…
you just went WAYYY off topic Allie, Home & Away, Crossing Jordan… say no more on these topics.
so, we did good apparently, but i still think we could have improved by not missing lines, and over all i perfer other drama types,
hmmm, when do we get the adjucators evaluation sheet?
hmmm, i think im waffling, bad impro ediccet(or however its spelled, eddecut, edikit, edjuchutt,?)
well, i know that it has taken me a while to write anything but ive been really busy and havent had one spare second!!!!!
anyway….i thought i had better do a self evaluation post performance seeing we are being assessed!!
EVALUATION OF EISTEDDFOD PERFORMANCE
At the eisteddfod we had some time to rehearse our performance beforehand so we made use of that time…
We ran through our lines and added some final movement to make it as good as we could. But during our rehearsal time we managed to do at least 4 runthroughs (in whish none were perfect!!!! Actually, we had never had a rehearsal that was all right!!!!)
anyway..after our little rehearsal, it was then time to go in and we would be performing soon!!
as we were called to go backstage, my nerves kicked in and i was stressing out!!! i was certain that we werent ready to perform and i just hoped we would pull through.
ANyway, it was now time for us to perform. We took our places on stage and said the starting lines. from then on, everything went smoothly really…i remembered my lines and all of my asides and the rest of my group members also remembered their lines and although (apparently) there was a bit of a line jumble up, i didnt notice it and i dont think the audience did either!! pheewww!
once we were all finished we sat back in the audience, quite satisfied with our results!!!
it was then adjudication time. I didnt expect to get anything as i knew our performance could have been better and there were some awesome performances that had competed against us. I was just happy that it was all over……
but then the adjudicator called out the Highly commendeds, 3rd place, 2nd place and then…would you believe it…OUR GROUP PLACED 1ST!!!!!! we were all very surprised but happy at the same time.
the adjusicator must have liked our script or something because ther was other groups that deserved better narks than us…but i guess it is the opinion of the adjudicator.
Well, as a group i am very proud of our acheivements we all did a great job and contributed to the performance. I think that we worked well as a team and i have learnt alot about team work and listening to others offers and then progressing them.
I have also learnt better communication skills and learnt to work with peers. I learnt ALOT about Melodrama and the key components in a Melodramatic performance.
Although it was alot of hard work in the preperation, it was worth it and i learnt tonnes more as well as having lots of fun!!!!
Hi everyone
I finally got my Vineblogs up and running. (I am the most technologically disadvantaged person in the whole world). Anyway, watch this space for more blogs from me.
I’ll start where we decided to our wedding play.
We had to do a showback and at the last minute we thought our farm idea was stupid so we sifted through the improv cards. We decided to change the play to a wedding where Xanthe gets married to Luke but Allie and Bo don’t like that so they capture her. More soon
Hi
The plot of the play is this
Luke annd Xanthe are engaged but Allie and Bo don’t want this to happen so Allie captures Xanthe. I see the whole thing though and tell this to Luke although he doesn’t believe me. In the end we find that Allie is too short to be Xanthe and end of story.
hmm well i just read xanthe’s self evaluation so i’ll ad some more to mine……
uhhh well thank heavens we wre allowed to practice before cos that really saved our butts i rekon…we did all these run throughs where we practised with the scarf, and we sort of did some last minute blocking.
we had some problems with the sings so we decided to have them already layed out on stage where Cameron would need them so that he didn’t have to shuffle through the so that was a good idea….we added some movement i think.
we tried to do a few run throughs with out stopping and i think we did one or two, but then again maybe we didn’t….hmmm…not sure. well that rehearsal was good cos it sort of calmed our nerves a little bit knowing that we could do it and knowing that everone else could do it….anyway i think a maj problem in this rehearsal was remembering the order of our lines and what was the que for certian actions like luke taking of the scarf and going “ARGH ALLIE” ummmm so we sort of drilled the wedding ceremony a few times….
hmmm backstage i started freaking out as i normally do. Bo and i rehearsed our lines for our little ‘duologue’ i suppose and we sorted out who would take what when we set up. so yeah i freaked out a bit, which is normal, but as always once we got on stage i was fine.
hmmm after we did it i was so relieved, and then spent the next few minutes searching backstage for xanthe’s scarf that we used…hmmm anyway it felt so good to be sitting back down in the audience i tell you what.
hmm as xanthe said it was hard work, but we got a good result and good reaction from the audience, which is what performing is about…hmmm…;)
Today we had a practice but Xanthe coldn’t come so Bo and I had to play girls which was weird but fun at the same time. I need to find cardboard to make signs out of and I need to focus more
WE WON!!! WE WON!!!! I CAN”T BELIEVE THAT WE WON!!! There were heaps of performaces that were better but I guess it all comes down to the adjuticator’s decision. First, to start off the day we had a practice outside and then we went inside to watch the rest of the days performances. I thought we were all very good and we all stuck to the script and only used impro when necessary. I thought our impro was alright but everyone was kind of unfocused
hmmm well i think we did well at the estedford. we didnt do very well in impro so it made me a bit more determined to do well in the original performances. we had some practices before the performance and we pulled it together well in the pracs. we then performed and we went well. the audience interacted well with us and i think they enjoyed it. we had a stuff up when bo said the wrong line and i almost laughed but i controlled myself!!phew but overall i think we did a good job with the performance
aww no now we have to perform on open day i think…..telling the truth i deletec my script from the computer in a fit of happiness so i’ll have to try and remember the script. hmmm well we hand in this blogbook thingo tomorrow…finnally ova gosh i hope we arn’t being marked on spelling and grammer cos i think I sorta failed in that area. to be truthful i’m glad this assignment is finally completely over (until open day)
well goodbye blog book…ummm yeah…this is the end…bye
sorry if these blogs seem out of order but I was in a rush.
THE NEXT LESSON….
Today we did three activities which helped us with our performances. The first one we had to do our original work as if it was a silent movie. The second one was a ‘one word at a time’ activity. The third one we had to do our performace in gibberish. They all helped us storyboard our play.
Well we’re performing at the open day on Monday so that is alright. I accidentally through out my script because I thought I wouldn’t need it again. Luckliy I kept a copy of the script Allie e-mailed to me so that is a relief. Anyway, this is the last Vineblogs I’ll ever do so bye and see-ya next time.
self evalluation, (apparently we’re posting too quickly)
we sucked at first when we had a rubbish topic, then we got better as we developed it, until estedfod day which was our peak, and now we suck again =),(am i posting slow enough)
and now we have to do open day, happy practicing!!!
A good blogbook….lots of one person though….boys, remember to regularily reflect on your performances not just write fun comments. And if you use the forum to discuss your progress there would be more fluidity in your blogbook. A good effort though, and congratulations on overcoming the technology….it drove me mad too.
Well well done all of you for giving it a go. It is really interesting reading everyone’s comments and reflections .This is the only blog I’ve seen on vineblogs where all the posts are in comments rather than posts in the actual blog. It seems to work OK though - and I guess whoever set up the blog gets the comments by email - whereas the posts won’t come that way. Have you had a look at many other blogs? Scroll through all blogs on at http://vineblogs.net. I’ve just seen one called awesome kaleidoscopes that has a lot of pics etc. There are some grade 6 ones where whole classes have blogged on one blog - eg year6room5
all the best

so, we’re doing a melodrama, about a ‘hungry man’ who steals farmer sheildz’s cow to eat it and gets chased away by Mrs Animal rights officer, who ends up ’saving the day’, is that all good? caught up nice n’ goodly?
May 18th, 2007 at 5:40 am
hmm yer that pretty much adds up the whole play!!!!lol yer today was actually pretty good because we have an idea of the storyline now!! it will be hard to write the cript though cause it is really random lol i dont know who is going write it?? anyone????hellllloooooo?is there sumone there??
May 21st, 2007 at 4:38 am
yeah, well today we did a little storyboarding, trying to expand it and whatnot
May 28th, 2007 at 2:07 am
so far we have totally changed what we were going to do!! It was a bit radical!!lol we were going to do a story about a farmer and stuff but it was a bit wierd and not melodramatic enough. May 28th, 2007 at 2:09 am
so now weve changed our story line comletely, to something along the lines of:
hero gets engaged to heroine,
villian is jealous and so kidnaps heroine,

END
am i right?,
so Allie wrote up the script, and we handed it in.

yep, glad you could join us
, now, today we stayed back(except for xanthe and allie, which made it difficult) and went through our lines without the scripts, so hopefully when we all come together it will be all good
May 29th, 2007 at 4:40 am
(is this all too detailed? tough)
May 29th, 2007 at 4:45 am
OK! next lesson!
we split into our groups and did the four stations thingo again.
I think the problem is sort of that cow gets stolen, cow gets returned. and then thats it so there isn’t that much of a story line. hmmm. anyway.
May 29th, 2007 at 4:47 am
OK, ANOTHER LESSON! NOOOOO!
anyway Luke was away or something like that today so when we got in our groups we sort of did some story boarding, and tried to plot out where our story line was going to lead to. we really didn’t get much done that lesson and I was beginning to get worried about the particualr story line we had chosen…..hmmmm…..
May 29th, 2007 at 4:52 am
hello again!
uhhhh the next lesson we sort of continued story boarding, and i rewrote the notes in my book because it was a bit messy.
May 29th, 2007 at 4:56 am
ARGH! we had showback this lesson, Luke was somewhere else and we still had a plot that went no where.
May 29th, 2007 at 5:04 am
hello!
i just realized i forgot to explain what the story line was!
May 29th, 2007 at 5:10 am
May 29th, 2007 at 5:16 am
and hello once again
did the script thu night and tried to make xanthe not so ‘gushy’ as she asked, and i added three or four asides, and made sure Cameron had plenty of signs to hold up. i wasn’t sure on what to do for the ending, so i just made it very quick, we could always redo it.
ummm what to write. uhhh about the ‘casting’ i think Cameron is more of the hero rather than the assistant, cos he sort of saves the day in reality, and Luke rescues Xanthe. so they sort of share the hero role equally.
May 29th, 2007 at 5:19 am
hmmm monday lesson (28th)
well not much to report. we were supposed to continue with group work after we did some revising/notes from board.
I pretty much sat there the whole lesson looking through my book because all the notes were from out book and i had already summarised them on the weekend. i quickly wrote down the ten commandments and the elements we needed just incase i had missed a few.
other than that there wasn’t any group work….;]
May 29th, 2007 at 5:24 am
well hello once again.
well today we stayed back after school. xanthe couldn’t ome because she couldn’t get someone to cover her shift at work or something, and i could only stay half an hour because i wasn’t sure if mum knew and she wouldn’t answer the phone so that i could tell her. and knowing her if i was too late home she’d start freaking like she has done before. lol so i ‘made my escape’ pretty quickly.
we went out side and just went through the script anf i must say Bo and Luke do wonderful impersonations of Xanthe “Oh Luke I thought you’d never come!” “I’ve been bored stiff! literally!”
anyway i had to go, and either Bo or Luke said in thier blog that we might do Wednesday afternoon….i won’t be able to come because i’m working and it is too late to sway shifts with someone no matter how much i beg and grovel. oh well now that i hav added all my entries thus far to this ’stupid’ website i am done for now! YES!
May 29th, 2007 at 5:27 am
oh and apparantly i’m writing all this at 5:30 in the morning or something! believe me the day i get up at 5:30 for homework is the day that…well…the day that I suffer a severe head injury!
May 30th, 2007 at 5:19 am
YEAH!!!!!
May 30th, 2007 at 5:24 am
AAHHHHHHHHHHHH!! kinda freakin out right now!!!! IT IN TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!! WE REALLY NEED MORE TIME!!!!!!!! we should all meet for a morning rehearsal…maybe…maybe not…
but definatly lunch rehearsal kk???
‘good good…
AHHH!!!!
May 30th, 2007 at 5:44 am
ARGH! XANTHE YOU JUST PUT IT ALL INTO PERSPECTIVE! TODAY IS WEDNESDAY! AND WE PERFORM FRIDAY! THAT IS ONLY 2 DAYS! BRING ON THE LUNCH TIME REHEARSALS!
May 30th, 2007 at 5:48 am
hmmm anyway
today we didn’t have drama but we did a lunch time rehearsal anyway….we started off doing an improv just to brush up. our topis was like ‘hamburgers’ or something along the lines of that. anyway Cameron and Bo were selling dodgy hotdogs and Luke bought one and died. then I came along with my trusty dog and yeh…that was about it…
then we moved onto our melodrama we put our scripts down and only looked at them when we need a prompt, which was pretty much all the time. i think i know my lines pretty well i just don’t know when they come in and in what order…;)
anyway two days left. i now officially declare this ‘official panic time’.
May 30th, 2007 at 5:49 am
hmm i just realised that i’ve been making lots of typos…oh well.
May 31st, 2007 at 4:14 am
i didnt think it was too complex for you, its just because you said ‘i cant’.
any way it is now 6-15 the day before, so that means heaps of drilling it tomorrow while we’re waiting…
May 31st, 2007 at 4:15 am
but Seildzy still hasnt put in
May 31st, 2007 at 4:59 am
well…today was PATHETIC!!! considering we didnt even get to rehearse at lunch!!!
May 31st, 2007 at 7:21 am
where is sheidlzy he hasnt writen anything
May 31st, 2007 at 8:34 am
May 31st, 2007 at 8:36 am
oh and i also forgot, i’m going to google melodrama and see if there is anymore actions like ‘hand to head’ to show certain feelings such as anger and sadness…hmmm yeh that’s it from me….well for now anyway and now i’m rambling. it’s so much easier to ramble on this silly blog than in your actual logbook.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:52 am
ARGH! I JUST REALISED! FLOWERS! I’LL NEED FLOWERS FOR THE WEDDING!WHAT KIND OF BRIDE GOOD OR EVIL DOESN’T HAVE FLOWERS!
June 2nd, 2007 at 1:21 am
hmmm well i would have updated straight away after our performance but my internet decided to crash again for the first time in three months. oh the pain.
hmmm any way
June 2nd, 2007 at 1:35 am
(ARGH! continuing from my last comment)
WE WON! WOOT WOOT! any way not that that really matters. hmm anyway i think we did pretty well (obviously the judges thought so) i was beginning to freak out when i forgot one of my lines so i jut skipped straight through two or three of them and we kept going.
ummmm well at the wedding when Bo was saying to me “do you take Luke to be…” he accidentally said wife instead of husband, and it took all my self control not to burst out laughing.
hmmm i think the signs worked well. i was really scared that the audience wouldn’t react to them but they did and i was so relieved. i had a quick look at the judges notes and they liked the signs.
hmmm there were a few asides when i was off stage and i didn’t really take notice i was sort of preparing myself for entering again so i don’t know how they went. hmmm OH!
June 2nd, 2007 at 1:37 am
woah i just realised that i have done 20 of these entries. I AM A FREAKAZIOD!
June 2nd, 2007 at 7:30 am
WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!! WE WON!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG…
thAT IS SO COOL
yer when bo said that i was going to be allis wife i had a little giggle to myself but i didnt crack up laughing….phew!!lol
so wat did the judges say about the performance?
June 6th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
sooo…were sitting in drama class and were supposed to be doing our blogbook….hmmmmm….right…yeah…
June 6th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
oh darn…we i think we have to perform at the end of the year again….and did she say grandparents day?….too late already thrown out the script
June 6th, 2007 at 9:37 pm
personally i didnt notice until i said do you luke take allie to be your wife, and then i thought ‘hmmm i think ive already said wife, oh well’
any way, we won, but we missed SSSOOOO many lines, but (thanks to impro) they barely or didnt notice
June 6th, 2007 at 9:53 pm
self evaluation….well i sorta done one already…..then again it was a tiny paragraph….maybe i should do some more……i hate logbooks….there….
….self evaluation complete…..oh and i don’t like melodrama…it’s too….melodramatic….and predictable…..like ‘home and away’ where no body can ever have a healthy baby, a regular wedding cerimony and where your average GP can perform brain surgery and heart surgery on a pregnant person! see! all to predictable. like in crossing jordan they all said she was gunna die but it’s sort of a melodrama so of course she won’t die….would it still be classed as a melodrama if the villain got away with everything and like, then hero died….? hmmmm well there we are…
June 7th, 2007 at 2:34 am
hmmm when is miss guest gonna read these?
June 8th, 2007 at 2:30 am
you just went WAYYY off topic Allie, Home & Away, Crossing Jordan… say no more on these topics.
so, we did good apparently, but i still think we could have improved by not missing lines, and over all i perfer other drama types,
hmmm, when do we get the adjucators evaluation sheet?
hmmm, i think im waffling, bad impro ediccet(or however its spelled, eddecut, edikit, edjuchutt,?)
June 8th, 2007 at 6:23 am
it wasn’t way off topic! home and away is a type of melodrama! i was just researching!
June 14th, 2007 at 8:00 am
well, i know that it has taken me a while to write anything but ive been really busy and havent had one spare second!!!!!
anyway….i thought i had better do a self evaluation post performance seeing we are being assessed!!
We took our places on stage and said the starting lines. from then on, everything went smoothly really…i remembered my lines and all of my asides and the rest of my group members also remembered their lines and although (apparently) there was a bit of a line jumble up, i didnt notice it and i dont think the audience did either!! pheewww!
once we were all finished we sat back in the audience, quite satisfied with our results!!!
we all did a great job and contributed to the performance. I think that we worked well as a team and i have learnt alot about team work and listening to others offers and then progressing them.
it was then adjudication time.
Well, as a group i am very proud of our acheivements
I have also learnt better communication skills and learnt to work with peers. I learnt ALOT about Melodrama and the key components in a Melodramatic performance.
Although it was alot of hard work in the preperation, it was worth it and i learnt tonnes more as well as having lots of fun!!!!
cheers!!! xanthe :):):)
June 15th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Hi everyone
I finally got my Vineblogs up and running. (I am the most technologically disadvantaged person in the whole world). Anyway, watch this space for more blogs from me.
June 15th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
I’ll start where we decided to our wedding play.
We had to do a showback and at the last minute we thought our farm idea was stupid so we sifted through the improv cards. We decided to change the play to a wedding where Xanthe gets married to Luke but Allie and Bo don’t like that so they capture her. More soon
June 15th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
June 16th, 2007 at 2:48 am
hmm well i just read xanthe’s self evaluation so i’ll ad some more to mine……
uhhh well thank heavens we wre allowed to practice before cos that really saved our butts i rekon…we did all these run throughs where we practised with the scarf, and we sort of did some last minute blocking.
we had some problems with the sings so we decided to have them already layed out on stage where Cameron would need them so that he didn’t have to shuffle through the so that was a good idea….we added some movement i think.
we tried to do a few run throughs with out stopping and i think we did one or two, but then again maybe we didn’t….hmmm…not sure. well that rehearsal was good cos it sort of calmed our nerves a little bit knowing that we could do it and knowing that everone else could do it….anyway i think a maj problem in this rehearsal was remembering the order of our lines and what was the que for certian actions like luke taking of the scarf and going “ARGH ALLIE” ummmm so we sort of drilled the wedding ceremony a few times….
hmmm backstage i started freaking out as i normally do.
June 20th, 2007 at 2:50 am
Today we had a practice but Xanthe coldn’t come so Bo and I had to play girls which was weird but fun at the same time. I need to find cardboard to make signs out of and I need to focus more
June 20th, 2007 at 3:03 am
WE WON!!!
June 20th, 2007 at 6:20 am
hmmm well i think we did well at the estedford. we didnt do very well in impro so it made me a bit more determined to do well in the original performances. we had some practices before the performance and we pulled it together well in the pracs. we then performed and we went well. the audience interacted well with us and i think they enjoyed it. we had a stuff up when bo said the wrong line and i almost laughed but i controlled myself!!phew but overall i think we did a good job with the performance
June 20th, 2007 at 7:06 am
aww no now we have to perform on open day i think…..telling the truth i deletec my script from the computer in a fit of happiness so i’ll have to try and remember the script. hmmm well we hand in this blogbook thingo tomorrow…finnally ova gosh i hope we arn’t being marked on spelling and grammer cos i think I sorta failed in that area. to be truthful i’m glad this assignment is finally completely over (until open day)
well goodbye blog book…ummm yeah…this is the end…bye
*dances*
June 20th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
sorry if these blogs seem out of order but I was in a rush.
THE NEXT LESSON….
Today we did three activities which helped us with our performances. The first one we had to do our original work as if it was a silent movie. The second one was a ‘one word at a time’ activity. The third one we had to do our performace in gibberish. They all helped us storyboard our play.
June 20th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
Well we’re performing at the open day on Monday so that is alright. I accidentally through out my script because I thought I wouldn’t need it again. Luckliy I kept a copy of the script Allie e-mailed to me so that is a relief. Anyway, this is the last Vineblogs I’ll ever do so bye and see-ya next time.
June 20th, 2007 at 11:07 pm
self evalluation, (apparently we’re posting too quickly)
we sucked at first when we had a rubbish topic, then we got better as we developed it, until estedfod day which was our peak, and now we suck again =),(am i posting slow enough)
and now we have to do open day, happy practicing!!!
June 26th, 2007 at 4:08 am
A good blogbook….lots of one person though….boys, remember to regularily reflect on your performances not just write fun comments. And if you use the forum to discuss your progress there would be more fluidity in your blogbook. A good effort though, and congratulations on overcoming the technology….it drove me mad too.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:27 am
